There is an outbreak of cholera in Nigeria at present. Since January this year, there have been reports of cholera infections and deaths in different parts of the country. According to the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC), the first outbreak started in the Northern part of the country, and has taken the lives of 289 Nigerians between January and June, 2021.
Recent reports from the NCDC show that the number of cases covered in Covid-19 is 170,000. 2,128 deaths and 165,000 recovered to normal health while more than 2,000 have been under close monitoring. The Nigerian Center for Disease Control has revealed that Nigeria recently recorded a total number of 1544 new cases of Covid-19. They stated this via their respective social media account.
