Attack By Gunmen Barely 72 Hours After Operation “Golden Dawn” Was Formed In South-East Is Worrisome
Photo Credit: Google The Nigerian military began the month of October by forming three operational units to help tackle insecurity in three parts of Nigeria. The newly formed operational units will tackle criminal elements and help douse tension in affected regions in the country including the South-East region.
picture.credit.alamystock.com A few days ago, the military in Imo paraded through the streets of Owerri, showcasing their military strength. This gesture caused the residents to scamper for safety. After this, the Army command issued a statement pleading with the people to go about their normal, lawful business, saying that they had not come for them, but for the unknown gunmen, kidnappers, and bandits.
In its effort to curb the growing cases of insecurity in the country, the Nigeria Army has launched 3 different operations across different regions. According to the Peoples Gazette, the operations which commence on Monday are; Operation Still Waters, Operation Enduring Peace, and Operation Golden Down.
