Organized Labour Warn Against Imminent Strike If The Government Fail To Honor The Signed MOU In Ogun
The Organized Labour in Ogun State has warned that a fresh strike by the state civil servants is looming over the failure of the state Government to agree to respond to several outstanding labour related issues. Trade Union Congress TUC says the meeting was requested by Organized Labour in the State to review the memorandum of understanding they signed with the State Government in 2020 to end the workers strike in the state.
The Federal government has announced the reduction of the cost of gas-to-power. This followed a round of successful negotiation between the Federal Government and the Organized Labour Unions. This announcement was made by the Hon. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva and shared by the Special Assistant to the President on Digital Media, Tolu Ogunlesi.
The Nigeria Labour Congress has insisted that the proposed strike action for Monday 28th of September, 2020 will continue. In support of this, the Organized Private Sector Union Forum of the Nigeria Labour Congress in rivers state has stated that any Private worker who fail to join the strike action will be sanctioned. The rivers state chapter of the union said it will setup monitoring committee across the state to ensure compliance. The chairman of the Organised Private sector union, Temple Morford, said the
