AVASCULAR NECROSIS (AVN)  Avascular necrosis is the death of bone tissue due to reduced or lack of blood supply to the joints. Also called OSTEONECROSIS, it can lead to tiny breaks in the bone and the bone's eventual collapse. It's one of the few Complications of SCD.
