As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), intensify preparations towards its forthcoming national convention slated for next week, details are emerging on why the race for the position of the party's national deputy chairman (South), may be the one that may be keenly contested.
The PDP would hold its national convention soon and top politicians are preparing for the exercise. But the southwest region of the party may divide along factional lines. The leadership of the party has zoned the deputy chairmanship to the southwest region and this may cause more division and factionalisation.
Secondus threatens PDP Convention with court injunction Anxiety hovers the national elective convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, slated for October 31 as former national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, has filed a court injunction praying same to stop the exercise from holding.
The former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, can now calm down as the PDP made some decisions relating to internal party matters, and 2023 elections. The party has decided to let the northern region produce the chairman of the party. And the party wants an open contest for the 2023 presidential race.
Every strategy or method is available for the PDP as the political party gets ready for the national convention which is scheduled to hold very soon. The political party is about to have a new national chairman. However, in the best interest of the party, one particular method shouldn't be applied because it wouldn't work for the PDP.
The opposition party would hold its convention in October and preparation seems to be in place for the exercise. Wike would be at the forefront of the exercise and this would make him to inadvertently commit at least one serious political error. He would want to put everything in place and in the process he would make mistakes.
