According to report, due to the constant interference by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to push for the interest for freedom of their confined leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and their constant agitation in the South Eastern territories of Anambra and Enugu, the mandatory sit at home policy has interfered with the educational system of students in the South Eastern territories.
Anambra state government have ordered for the extension of their school day to Saturdays, because of the compulsory sit-at-home order, in the south east. The sit-at-home has disrupted school activities, in the southeast region. According to the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Don Adinuba, Saturday classes will commence on October 30.

Information from the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) indicate that there are currently seven colleges of education owned by state governments in the South West geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Only four of these institutions are currently headed by professors. Interestingly, these 4 colleges are owned by the governments of Osun and Lagos states respectively.
Stakeholders in the opposition People's Democratic Party, PDP are preparing ahead of the NEC meeting of the PDP which will take place on Thursday this week. The outcome of that meeting will show what the Southern and Northern regions should expect as it regards the region that will produce the presidential candidate of the PDP.
