The victory of the current governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, in the governorship election, according to Alhaji Reyyanu Iliyasu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, was a divine affirmation of the people's desire. In the state election held on March 18, Governor Sule won by defeating David Ombugadu of the People's Democratic Party.
