The Northern state of Zamfara has been the hotbed of bandit activities for a long time now, prompting military intervention which resulted in the arrest of scores of them, as well as the capture of Turji Kachalla, a notorious leader of the criminals. However, it appears the Nigerian Army has recently suffered a major setback, as reports claim that a base in the Dansadau district of the state has been captured by the bandits.
The face of Notorious bandit leader, Turji Kachalla was revealed yesterday by former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode on his official Facebook page. Turji Kachalla had once boasted that he had the power to invite top terrorists across the world to come and destroy Nigeria. His team had engaged in terrorism, banditry and kidnapping.
Even before the Military started the invasions of the Bandits in their hideouts deep inside the forest in Zamfara State, different daily activities were either banned or suspended. These include: banning the sale of fuel in cans, the suspenson of weekly markets activities, banning of motorcycles and tricycles from overloading.
The incidents of banditry in North-Western NigerIa in recent times have made that part of the country nearly a no-go area, if not totally so. And although, those who are spear-heading the Inhuman acts are said to be in numbers, some of them are - Turji Kachalla, Aleru Ado and his younger brother, Sanata, all of whom are reportedly based in Zamfara State.
The war against banditry has been going on in different northern states for months now. Based on that note, it was reported recently that a notorious bandit, Bello Turji, was arrested by security operatives. The arrest of this bandit leader caused several people to react.

According to reports, the said bandit leader operates in Zamfara and Katsina State where he controls large numbers of bandits in the area.

Recent news reports indicate that the dreaded bandit leader, Turji Kachalla, has been captured and that scores of the criminals have been placed under arrest.
