FG Confirms When Nigerian Teachers Will Start Getting Special Salary The Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that the new special salary scale approved for Nigerian teachers will become effective as from January 1, 2022. This was confirmed in a statement on Wednesday by the government through its official Twitter handle.
During the year 2020 edition of World Teachers Day Celebration, President Muhammadu Buhari announced a new welfare package for the Teachers which include a new salary scale as well as the increase in the number of their years of service from 35 to 40 years while their retiring age increased from 60 to 65 years.
