He has described the feat as remarkable. Following the recent measures in place, there has been a remarkable onslaught of both bandits and terrorists, across the Northern states.
Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has heaped praises on Isa Pantami and some governors in the North West over their roles in dealing with bandits in the region. Recall that the Zamfara State government had earlier the closure of all telecommunication services following the rampaging activities of bandits in the state.

According to report, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the Former Minister of Aviation has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). At the Presidential Villa on Thursday, the former minister was presented to President Buhari as the newest member of the ruling party, by the governor of Yobe State and Chairman of the APC’s Caretaker Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni, and the governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawale.

Chief Fani Kayode being the former Nigeria aviation Minister Thursday in Abuja said he worked behind the scene in order to facilitate the defection of three members of the former ruling party i.e The People's Democratic Party (PDP) governors to the ruling party i.e APC. Recently, the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Mattawale disclosed that the state government has withdrawn its amnesty offer to bandits he said his administration will no longer grant amnesty to bandits as they have failed to embrace the peace initiative earlier lengthened to them. It was reported that gunmen had first attacked and killed the soldiers that were stationed at the Lokoja highway before attacking the prison and setting the inmates free.

On Saturday, 12 military personnel were murdered by bandits in Zamfara State after they laid an ambush on the army base in Mutumji, Zamfara State. A security source who spoke to Daily Trust confirmed the incident while narrating what happened. He said that the operation of the bandits was successful because of the lack of communication in Zamfara.
